Accomplishments

  1. selected as teacher of the month at Cross Keys High, sponsor of the chess team and co-sponsor of the forensics (debate) team--first-year teacher.
  2. programmed, in BASIC, DeKalb Community College's full and closed sections notification program using two buildings and four CRT's and end of day printouts by section number for advisors on a TRS 80 Model I
  3. designed DeKalb Community College's Continuing Education's instructor evaluation form, much of which survives today in the state's instructor evaluation form
  4. set up and ran TUGBUS, the first BBS (Bulletin Board System) for the Atlanta's Tandy Users Group
  5. programmed the Scantron scoring of DeKalb Community College's entrance/placement test, REM; provided student and advisor printouts and upload to off-site mainframe
  6. selected by peers as the Georgia School Counselor's Association's postsecondary counselor of the year
  7. programmed the state's placement test (CEEB's TAPP) in lieu of hand-scoring and reporting.
  8. programmed DeKalb Tech's Scantron-based EDITS COPSYSTE (COPES, CAPS, COPS), an interest, aptitude, and personality battery, which was later used by the DeKalb Public School System
